LIL WAYNE MTV's MAN OF THE YEAR!  DOES HE DESERVE IT?

MTV named Lil Wayne their 2008 man of the year.  Lil Wayne's track "A Milli" named by many as the top hip hop songs for 2008, and also managed 8 Grammy nominations, more than any other artist!  Of course there was the whole Drug and Gun bust, but come on, he has to build he's street credit somehow (that was sarcasm for those who missed it).

Among the other contenders were TI, Nick Jonas, Robert Pattinson and Kanye West.  Well let's clean up the contender list a little...

Nick Jonas - The award is man of the year not boy of the year.  So HELL NO!!

Robert Pattinson - Last time I checked MTV stood for Music Television, so not sure why an actor would make the list.  Especially since all he has accomplished was a role in an "OK" vampire movie.  I mean if non musicians are getting nominated, wouldn’t Barack Obama be a better choice for a contestant?  Seriously!

TI - Honestly didn’t here too much about TI this year.

I would say from the list of Contenders, the only real competition was Kanye West.   As far as tracks are concerned, they have both come out with several hit singles/videos this year.  However the 8 Grammy nominations and an Album, "The Carter III", that sold over a million copies in its first week, are strong reasons why Lil Wayne is the 2008 MTV Man Of The Year.
